Our Personal Mobile Banking App is Getting an Upgrade!

We recently upgraded our Personal Online Banking software with enhanced features and a modern interface that is easier to use. We are happy to announce that our Personal Mobile Banking App is getting a similar upgrade, so your user experience will be nearly identical across both online and mobile banking! Like our new online banking system, the upgraded mobile app features a modern mobile user interface that is easier to use. This latest mobile version also delivers enhanced security features like fingerprint or facial recognition and streamlined tools for moving your money.

Since the Mobile App is based on the same platform as the online banking system, your settings, alerts, and preferences established in online banking roll over to the new mobile app. So, your bill pay history, payee settings, and scheduled transfers all are set up in the new mobile app.

The only online banking service that is not active on the mobile app is People Pay. But, you can access People Pay by accessing online banking on your mobile device through a mobile web browser. Just use a web browser like Chrome or Safari (or other browser of your choice) to view the BankIowa.com website and click the ONLINE BANKING blue bar near the top of the screen to access online banking. The online banking software is mobile responsive, so it looks great on a mobile phone so you can use People Pay with this method.

New Features

Transfers

  • Internal Transfers – allows you to transfer funds to deposit accounts or loans internally to a recipient that also has a BankIowa deposit and/or loan account. NOTE - the receiving customer has no access to your account, this is a one-way transfer of funds from you to them. 
  • Transfer Notes – available for any transfer type, you may add a transfer or payment description note which is then viewable on your account statement
  • Transfer Templates – allows you to set up a template for recurring transfer types (ex. if you frequently perform a very similar transfer, such as from Account A to B, but you might vary the amount and when the transfer occurs, you can setup a Transfer Template and edit it easily to accommodate slight variations in transfers)

Alerts

  • Account and Service Alerts – offering expanded options for account and service alerts; easier to select alert options for transactions or account activity to send you an alert via your email and/or mobile device, depending on which communication options you choose

Other Enhancements

  • Security and Authentication – Login and authentication functionality has been enhanced to provide better security, including fingerprint or facial recognition biometrics and password & user ID reset
  • Secure Messaging – message our customer care team directly with a question or Request a Service (ex. order checks, change of address, request photocopies, etc.); additionally, secure messaging allows for a document to be attached and sent to our customer service team
  • Enroll in Online Banking – allows users to use the Mobile App to enroll in online banking
  • Update Contact Information – allows users to update address, phone number, email address, and change username and password
  • View eStatements and Tax Documents
  • Account Summary – enhanced to show more account details

These updates are all about making your experience better—simpler, smoother, and more aligned with how you want to manage your finances.

Will I have to change my username and password?
No. Your username and password will remain the same, so you can log in with your existing credentials.

Will my mobile software app automatically update?
Whether or not our mobile banking app automatically updates depends on your mobile device's settings. Our banking app will update automatically if you have enabled "automatic app updates" on your phone. If you have not enabled automatic updates, you will likely receive a notification to update the app manually when this new version is available.
